Background
I
have done hypnotherapy for individuals and groups in several types of location including
- On
the runway in a jet about to take off (fear of flying)
- On
a hotel sofa (regression to childhood to resolve a relationship issue)
- In
various meeting rooms (confidence, conflict resolution, self-esteem etc)
- At
the client’s home (various sessions)
- On
a train (overcoming travel sickness)
- At
a party (this was real therapy as opposed to showmanship)
- Over
the phone (confidence, sleeping, business building etc)
- During
a training course lunch break (weight management)
- In
a side room during a training event (overcoming limiting beliefs)
Many
of these situations have demanded a fairly spontaneous approach to effect a positive and permanent change in the individual.
The purpose of offering telephone hypnotherapy is to provide a service that is totally private, confidential and wherever
possible, as immediate as possible
I
have a dedicated Centre (in Cheshire, England) for one-to-one work but there are geographical limitations as to how far people
are able and willing to travel for a hypnotherapy session. From this constraint, the telephone hypnotherapy service was born.
As
far as I can understand, Karl at Freethink was the first person to formally offer this specific service (telephone
conversation and bespoke CD, since May 2008). If anyone knows otherwise, please get in touch so that I can correct this statement
Benefits
So
what are the benefits?
- you
are in a ‘safe’ place, usually at home
- you
have no frustrations or stresses with getting to my Centre
- you
are totally in control of your session
- you
only spend 30-45 minutes on the phone
- you
get a CD via post, usually within a couple of working days
- you
get to decide at the end of the chat whether or not you want me to proceed with the CD
- I
pay for the phone call (to UK land lines)
- I
have plenty of space at my desk to make notes during our phone conversation
- I
have time between the call and making your CD to think about the best approach for you
- I
can think about the timings and sequence of the recording to maximise the impact
- I
can work with clients in complete anonymity where they prefer to do so
Why choose telephone hypnotherapy?
There
are several reasons including, but not limited to;
- You
are nervous about the concept of hypnotherapy because it is your first time
- You
may feel uncomfortable about your situation or issue
- You
may feel vulnerable alone with another person
- You
may wish to not run the risk of ‘being seen’ going to a therapist
- You
may not have a therapist close to you
- You
may not be happy with the performance of your current therapist
- You
don’t have two hours spare to do the whole thing in one go
- You
would prefer to be alone at home when you are hypnotised
It is not hypnotherapy over the phone
To
be clear, this is not hypnotherapy over the phone. This is perfectly possible but very impractical because I cannot:
- control
the client’s surroundings
- assure
the client will not drop the phone during the session
- ensure
the session is free of disturbances
- hold
session when the client is most susceptible to change
- easily
record the session for the client
- ensure
that the client is fully engaged in the session
Something to think about before going ahead and booking a session
Hypnotherapy
and telephone hypnotherapy does not replace any medical or psychological support that you are receiving or may need. Hypnotherapy
for issues related to medical or psychological problems requires a referral from a licensed medical or mental health practitioner.
People
with psychological conditions or epilepsy must seek medical advice before listening to a hypnotherapy CD.
I
do not represent our services as any form of medical, behavioural or mental health care, and despite research to the contrary,
by law, I may make no health benefit claims for my services.
Once you have decided to go ahead with a telephone hypnotherapy session
- Complete
the on-line Contact Form (I can send one by post if you wish)
- Make
the payment
Once this is done, I will
- Agree
an appointment date and time for the phone call with you
- Confirm
the number that you wish me to ring
Preparation for the phone call
- Please
be available for the pre-arranged call. I will be reserving this time especially for you just as if you were to come to our
Centre. Those who are not available for the call will be charged £25 for the time lost. I do not offer refunds for calls dropped
or lost because of poor connections, low batteries, or any other conditions on the client's end
- Naturally,
I understand that circumstances might arise which would require you to change your appointment. In this case, please call
us on 01606 42668 at least 24 hours in advance, and I will be happy to arrange another time for your session
- Please
ensure that you are not disturbed or overheard
- Allow
45 minutes for the call
- Avoid
alcohol etc prior to the phone call
- You
may need some tissues to hand
At the pre-agreed phone call time, I will
- Call
you on the UK landline number you specified. For all other locations and number types, you should call me at the appointed
time
- Ask
for you by name
- Refuse
to discuss the reason for the call with anybody else
During the call, I shall
- Understand
what your desired outcome is
- Ask
you a series of questions that require an honest and open answer
- Appropriately
challenge you if required
- Comply
if you ask me to stop a certain line of questioning
- Be
curious and enthusiastic to understand more
- Be
non-judgemental of any comments or statements you make
- Treat
you with the utmost dignity and respect
- Keep
the phone call duration to a maximum of 45 minutes unless agreed by you
- Make
notes that I will use for the CD creation. These notes shall not be passed on to others
- Ensure
that you are comfortable at the end of the session, especially if you have been a little emotional during the call
After the call, I shall
- Think
about our conversation and your desired outcome
- Prepare
an approach for the CD creation
- Create
a unique CD especially for you within a working day of our session
- Ensure
that your name and the duration of the CD are printed onto the CD
- Send
the CD to you by first class (UK overland) post in a brown protective envelope. It will have your name and address hand written
on it and I use normal UK stamps. The envelope fits through any normal front door letter box
When you receive the CD
- Keep
it somewhere safe.
- If
the case is damaged or the recording fails to work, please contact me within 5 working days so that I can organise a replacement
with 24 hours of you notifying me
- Wear
some comfortable clothes and listen to the CD where you can deeply relax. Many people listen to it at nigh time in bed. You
may choose to listen to it via headphones for maximum impact and privacy
- Listen
to it and allow it to help you change. You may find it very relaxing or very sensitising. It may make you change immediately
or over a period of 5-15 days. You may have obvious changes or you may just know that things are different. This all depends
upon your unique situation and what your end goal was
- I
always love honest feedback about how you found it and what happened after listening to the CD. Please e-mail me karl@freethinksolutions.co.uk
